This 2027 BMW M3 came to Dynamic Detailing in Santa Clara in Portimao Blue, one of those colors that really shows off the shape and aggressive styling of the M3. For this vehicle, the owner wanted to protect the factory paint from the road without covering the entire car in PPF.

For many owners, the full front provides the best balance of protection and investment.
The front end is where the majority of road debris is going to hit, so that's where we prioritize the film.
Depending on how you drive and where you park, a full-front installation can protect the areas that are most likely to get rock chips while leaving the rest of the M3's original paint exposed.
And on a color like Portimao Blue, preserving that factory finish is important.
Why PPF Is Different From Ceramic Coating
We get this question constantly:
"If I get ceramic coating, do I still need PPF?"
If rock-chip protection is the goal, yes.
Ceramic coating and PPF aren't really substitutes for one another.
A ceramic coating can provide excellent hydrophobic properties, environmental protection and easier maintenance, but it doesn't provide the same physical barrier against rock chips that PPF does.
SunTek itself notes that ceramic coatings don't offer the same level of rock-chip and surface protection as PPF.
